Lance's School Pictures

Lance already received his school pictures back for this year.  It got us looking through all of the school pics.  It is so fun to see the changes every year.

Fidler on the Roof

Fidler on the Roof with The Benson Gristmill Performers.  This was my favorite part where the Matchmaker was finding a match for Colin and Lucas.

I am so proud of Lucas.  He had 3 to 4 practices a week all summer, each practice was about 3 hours.  The last week before the play he helped with painting and practiced 6:00-12:00 every night.  Most kids would be done and he couldn't get enough.  He did such a great job in the play. I am glad he has found something he is good at and loves.

Green River

Kerry and Lance went to scout for their antelope hunting trip.  They found some other neat things too.

Summer Update

In the summer the kids like to sleep in the middle with each other.  They can't do it every night because they stay up too late.  They actually like each other...they just don't want us to know it.

 Cascade Springs
Summer update:  I haven't been taking very many pictures but we have been places.  We went camping at our annual Kaman Campout in Huntington (which is now burnt down because of the the wildfires).  Lagoon,Seven Peaks,Homestead,Golf Tournament, Races, Parade, local swimming pool, BBQs and parties.  It has actually been a full fun summer.

Jessica has been going to Lego League twice a week.  They are learning about robots:  programming, gears, attachments and inventing.  Their theme this year is Senior Solutions.  They used her name idea for their group  'Gear Engineers'.

Lance has been going to Football four times a week he starts 2 a days next week.  He has gained 4 lbs.

Lucas is practicing four times a week for the Fidler on the Roof.  The Benson Gristmill puts on a play every year.  It is August 10,11, and 13th.

Furniture

 Before
After
I thought I took a before pic, but I guess not.  My favorite part of this piece is the glass handles and the price.  It was only 20.00 and I put about 20.00 into it.  The drawers were badly broken and needed new bottoms.
I bought a light from the DI and took it apart.  I combined it with a birdcage and some other lighting parts.  I painted it all the same color and this is my end project.  I got the idea on a way cool website http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/
A little repaint for some fun and an update.

I took apart a crazy lamp and all its parts to make this lighting work.  It was a major brain teaser with a lot of small parts.  It was a lot of fun.

Tamara and I painted a Twister Board on the grass at school.
Lucas and his class playing twister.
They were about the 15th class....the colors were fading badly. I was fading badly.

Sparrows

We are officially crazy.  We have Animal Control on speed dial for lost dogs already and now we have gone off the deep end.  Our neighbors found 3 birds in their dryer vent.  They only had a few wings and they were pretty small. The neighbors were going to dispose of the birds so we took them in. One of the birds I think fell into the dryer.  We ended up having a bird funeral for that bird, he never would eat or thrive.  Lance looked up food on-line and made up a mixture of strawberries, bananas and cat food.  Everyone hand fed the birds, trying to handle them very little...except for a great snapshot of course.  One day one of them started flying around the house and we let him go and he flew off.  The next day the other did the same and we let him go.  We hope they are doing well out in the wild neighborhood. We had them for 10 days and they grew so much and more wings so fast.  It was pretty cool.

Academic Awards for Jes and Lucas

Lucas received the Superintendant's Award he had one A- and the rest A's this year.
This is the Good Citizenship Award.  Not very many kids in their class received this award.  They were a hard class this year...poor Mrs. Jorgensen.
I know nobody cares about this kind of stuff and it sounds like bragging but when I print out my blog into a book these are some of the things I want to remember so that is that.  Jessica received a Superintendant's Award she had a B+ and an A- with the rest A's this year.  She also received a Good Citizenship Award.  This is her teacher Mrs. Manzione.  She is a fabulous teacher.  I really liked working with her too.  We hope Lucas gets her next year.
