Furniture

 Before
After
I thought I took a before pic, but I guess not.  My favorite part of this piece is the glass handles and the price.  It was only 20.00 and I put about 20.00 into it.  The drawers were badly broken and needed new bottoms.
I bought a light from the DI and took it apart.  I combined it with a birdcage and some other lighting parts.  I painted it all the same color and this is my end project.  I got the idea on a way cool website http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/
A little repaint for some fun and an update.

I took apart a crazy lamp and all its parts to make this lighting work.  It was a major brain teaser with a lot of small parts.  It was a lot of fun.

Sparrows

We are officially crazy.  We have Animal Control on speed dial for lost dogs already and now we have gone off the deep end.  Our neighbors found 3 birds in their dryer vent.  They only had a few wings and they were pretty small. The neighbors were going to dispose of the birds so we took them in. One of the birds I think fell into the dryer.  We ended up having a bird funeral for that bird, he never would eat or thrive.  Lance looked up food on-line and made up a mixture of strawberries, bananas and cat food.  Everyone hand fed the birds, trying to handle them very little...except for a great snapshot of course.  One day one of them started flying around the house and we let him go and he flew off.  The next day the other did the same and we let him go.  We hope they are doing well out in the wild neighborhood. We had them for 10 days and they grew so much and more wings so fast.  It was pretty cool.

Academic Awards for Jes and Lucas

Lucas received the Superintendant's Award he had one A- and the rest A's this year.
This is the Good Citizenship Award.  Not very many kids in their class received this award.  They were a hard class this year...poor Mrs. Jorgensen.
I know nobody cares about this kind of stuff and it sounds like bragging but when I print out my blog into a book these are some of the things I want to remember so that is that.  Jessica received a Superintendant's Award she had a B+ and an A- with the rest A's this year.  She also received a Good Citizenship Award.  This is her teacher Mrs. Manzione.  She is a fabulous teacher.  I really liked working with her too.  We hope Lucas gets her next year.

8th Grade Awards/Presidential Physical Fitness Awards

Advanced Band had to play for the Awards Ceremony.

 Lance turned to fast.
 Lucas' Class getting Presidential Awards.

Jessica worked so hard this year to get Presidential.
 Lance's Superintendent's Award for grades.
6 Kids in the whole 8th Grade got this award.  It is a pretty cool plaque.  He had to have a 4.0 for 7th and 8th Grade for every term.  We are very proud.
Kerry makes fun of this award....he doesn't think you should get an award for being healthy.  I think the part of this award that is substantial is you have to be on time for all of your classes.

Fun Movie Night

These kids have so much fun together.  I love how well they treat one another.  They have amazing parents who have taught them well.  I always enjoy having them in my home.

Suessical

These pictures are a little rough...but gym lighting is tough.  Lucas obviously was The Cat in the Hat.  He had a few little costume changes that were fun.  He had two solo songs.  I know I am his mom but he did very well with his songs and his lines.  Jessica played a Who and a hunter.  She was very cute.  She only had a few lines, but she had fun.  Lucas and Jessica went every Wednesday Morning early to school to work on this play.  They had to audition for the parts and practice hard.  I am very proud of both of them.

 Auctioneer Cat
 Ringmaster Cat
 Dr. Dake Cat
 Court Marshall Cat

Jes and Lucas with Horton and his egg.
Jes and Lucas with their good friend Mariah...she played Maize and she was incredible.  All the mom's had to make the costumes and I think her mom Janelle did an amazing job.
 Who Hair!!!
 Who dressed this girl!!!
One of the costume changes that we didn't get a good pic of in the show.  The cutest Jungle Cat.
Jessee was hard to get pictures of she was always moving and always with groups.
